Silenced Acrylic on canvas, 140 × 60 cm Silenced was created during the #MeToo movement. The painting depicts a nude woman with her eyes and mouth covered, and her hands bound behind her back. The woman becomes a symbol of silence, vulnerability, and powerlessness – of being unable to see, hear, speak, or act. The nudity reinforces the feeling of vulnerability and being left without protection. The painting is a personal interpretation of a time when many women began speaking openly about experiences of sexual harassment, abuse, and being silenced. Silenced is about what could not be said, what was not heard – and a voice longing to break free.
